Is it true you should let a battery go all the way dead before recharging?
Answer
It depends on the type of battery, I believe older types like NiCad and NiMH batteries will last a lot longer if you fully discharge them before recharging. Most of the new LiIon and LiPo batteries shouldnt have this problem, but it wont hurt them to discharge them anyway. Also I have read that fully charging new batteries before their first use will also help to extend the life of the battery.
